detail | VMFA-235 was founded in January 1943 equipped with SBD Dauntless aircraft, and changed aircraft types from F9F to FJ Fury, and then to the all-weather fighter F-8 in 1966. It was deployed to Vietnam from February to November 1966, and from February 1967 to May 1968. It was the last unit to operate the F-8. The main wing can be adjusted up to 7 degrees angle of attack. *The leading edge slats and trailing edge flaps of the main wing are fixed in the down position. |
