This item features a SANGO pattern fabric, which is made by combining mud dyeing, one of the manufacturing processes of Oshima Tsumugi, a traditional craft of Amami, with indigo dyeing. What is Mud Dyeing? Oshima Tsumugi, a traditional industry that Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, is proud of around the world
One of the production processes is a dyeing method with a history of 1300 years. It is a technique that uses "tea tree" that grows naturally on Amami Oshima and iron-rich mud that is only made in Amami, and is dyed entirely by hand.
