The second Eurofighter is a commemorative livery for the 100th anniversary of the founding of No. 3 Squadron, RAF.
The 3rd Squadron was established in May 1912 in Larkhill, famous for Stonehenge, and has long been a squadron that has possessed British fighter planes such as the Sopwith Camel, Gloster Javelin, and Hawker Siddeley Harrier. During World War II, the French ace pilot Pierre Clostermann also belonged to the squadron.
The model aircraft entered service in June 2011 and was deployed to Northfold RAF during the 2012 London Olympics, where it was tasked with providing air defence for the UK as the "Olympic Guardian".
