Northrop P-61B Black Widow, US Army 7th Air Force, 548th Night Fighter Squadron #42-39408 "Lady in the Dark", Iejima, August 14, 1945, 1/144 [AF10138]

On the night of August 14, 1945, just before the end of the war, this aircraft, the "Lady in the Dark," shot down a Japanese military plane in the airspace around Iejima, Okinawa, but this was not officially recognized. This battle is said to be the last battle of the U.S. Army Air Forces.
