The 653rd Naval Air Group was a Japanese naval aviation group that departed from the aircraft carrier Zuikaku. As the war of attrition continued, they departed as a decoy task force for the enemy's air force in Operation Sho-Ichi-Go (the Battle of Leyte Gulf). Although they accomplished their mission, the Japanese navy's aircraft carrier task force was destroyed. The 653rd Naval Air Group was then disbanded.
The two yellow horizontal lines above and one below the aircraft number on the vertical stabilizer of this product are the markings of a commanding aircraft.

- The cowling is a conversion type made of clear parts. Even the inside of the engine is reproduced.
- The teardrop-shaped windshield can be opened and closed. The instruments inside the cockpit are also reproduced. A painted pilot is included.
- The main landing gear can be opened and closed just like the real aircraft, allowing it to assume a dignified landing position.
