Originally a passenger aircraft introduced by Japan Airlines in August 1992, it was converted to a cargo aircraft in 2006 after being retired by the company. It was leased to Atlas Air and has been in operation since November 2016 by Western Global Airlines.
The wing flaps are fixed in the down position and cannot be moved.
