This passenger version was introduced by Japan Airlines in November 1991, and was converted to a cargo version by Evergreen Airlines in 2012. In 2016, Global Supertanker re-converted it into an aerial firefighting aircraft, but after the company went bankrupt in 2020, National Airlines converted it back into a cargo version. 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of National Airlines' founding.
The wing flaps are fixed in the down position and cannot be moved.
